We're proud to be the EXCLUSIVE Watts® dealer
for the South Carolina Lowcountry.

Water treatment technology has come a long way in just the last few years. Not long ago there just wasn't a dependable and affordable way to prevent staining due to iron content or bad odor due to hydrogen sulfide gas in well water. That's all changed now. The Watts Filox© media filter requires no regular maintenance and no salt, chlorine, or other chemicals. It filters the water all day capturing iron, hydrogen sulfide, and other minors then automatically backwashes during the night so it's ready to go again day after day, year after year. And under normal circumstances the media should never have to be changed. With advancements in technology the cost is less now than it was 10 years ago. Don't be taken advantage of by a big national company or another local company that installs anything less. Call to find out how affordable it is to cure your water problems today.

Quick and Easy to Use Chlorination Systems

Periodic Chlorination is the first step in guaranteeing that your well water is safe for your family. But not many people chlorinate their home water system because they just don't know how or never knew how important it is. SC-DHEC (our health department) recommends that you chlorinate your home water system at least once each year to safeguard against contamination by harmful bacteria. Chlorinating your water system also prevents mineral buildup and even algae growth that is common in home water systems without chlorinated municipal water. We custom build each chlorinator to give you a quick and easy way to chlorinate your home water system and we do this for an affordable price. Deep wells and shallow wells are chlorinated differently.

NOTE: Ideally, you want to install this chlorinator to use on a periodic basis in combination with a whole-house U/V system for final protection against bacteriological contamination.

If chlorination is the first step in guaranteeing the safety of your well water then U/V protection is the last.

The Watts® WUV-12 (110 or 220 volt) disinfection system is compact and has a substantial flow rate of 12 gallons per minute. It effectively kills any harmful bacteria that could infect your home water system and requires minimal servicing which takes just a few minutes and can be done by the homeowner. It's reassuring to know that your drinking water is U/V protected and safe for your family. We install this system for a very affordable price.

The Watts Filox® media filter for iron and sulfur removal (explained above) does such a good job at filtering well water it is normally not necessary to install additional treatment equipment. But occasionally the water will have such a high TDS (total dissolved solids) content or be so hard that it requires additional water softening. The primary problem noticed with exceptionally hard water is spotting on dishes or on the glass shower door. Occasionally on a newly constructed home the cost of the entire water system, including filtering and softening, is well within the owners budget and he or she just wants to be sure that the water quality is the best possible.

We install a complete range of water softening equipment at a very affordable price. The unit pictured here is a duel media water softener and filter. The lower section contains a media that softens the water and the upper section contains an activated carbon media for additional improvement in taste and clarity.

I'm going to give you some advice that you might not expect from a deep well driller that installs water treatment equipment for a living. There are only two instances when you would consider installing a whole-house reverse osmosis system.

1) You are unable to get a shallow well or your shallow well has salt water intrusion or…

2) Whole-house R/O is within your budget and you simply want to have bottle quality water from every tap in the home.

Reverse Osmosis removes salt. Other types of water filtration do not. But R/O water IS bottle quality OR BETTER. In our geographic location R/O requires a deep well. It requires more space for water storage tanks and the power consumption is much greater since there are three motors involved instead of one. We install state-of-the-art whole house R/O systems. And Watts is an industry leader in R/O technology. R/O technology has rapidly improved in just the last few years and the costs have dropped dramatically.

Make sure that you are not being misled about the need to install a whole-house reverse osmosis system. But if you do have one installed, call us to be confident that you are getting a good price on a very professionally installed state-of-the-art system.

Aeration Systems

Occasionally raw well water contains such high levels of iron or hydrogen sulfide gas that it is necessary to pre-aerate the water prior to other filtration. Aeration increases the usable dissolved oxygen content of the water and precipitates the iron or sulfur molecule (i.e. – brings it out of suspension) so that when the water makes contact with the filter media these molecules are captured much more easily. Aeration is not that involved but it has to be done properly. The water should never come in contact with unfiltered air or be exposed to atmosphere. Many times I have seen poorly conceived (and even more poorly installed) aeration systems that are no more that a tank that allows the water to sit open, exposed to atmosphere, where it is also exposed to mosquito larvae and algae. That's something you don't want to think about when you're brushing your teeth in the morning. Talk to us for good advice.
